The launch of the Beach Art Gallery housed at Freedom Surf School will take place on Sunday 24th June at 3pm – 5.30pm promises to be a great event. Kevin Cavey, the Godfather of Irish surfing, and also a keen painter himself will open the Gallery. Music and light refreshments are planned and all are welcome to come and enjoy the atmosphere at this family-friendly event.
Billy Butler of Freedom told us, “Having supported local artists with smaller-scale exhibitions over the past three years , we decided we wanted to showcase the many other local artistic talents focusing on marine themes amongst others”. He added, “Having recently extended our premises to the adjoining cottage, the crisp white walls and high ceilings were just crying out for a splash of colour. The uptake from artists from north, south, east and west has been phenomenal and we are really looking forward to bringing this eclectic range of paintings in varying media to Tramore’s many visitors”.
The exhibition will run throughout the summer months and on into September, if you can’t make it on the day. Refreshments and live music, all are welcome.
